Animal Farm is a personal throwback of mine, as I was fascinated with the dystopian novels I studied in A-level English Literature, I have no idea how it could be adapted to the stage, I was especially excited to see how it takes form, I loved observing the inner workings of Amy Leach putting the final few tweaks on Animal Farm, and seeing Kate Waters, and Kate Husbands give advice in the final rehearsals for their sections involving the fights and movements. It was wonderful to also work alongside Creative BSL Consultant Stephen Collins and how he coached the actors for the visual physicality needed in each role. Overall it was an incredible reminder of how theatre can come alive and can be passionate at every stage of its making, especially with such a poignant and politically important play.
